Why We Built This Reference
Printed Madison County directories ended, yet the records behind them remain. Current ownership appears through the Madison County Tax Assessor and Probate Judge. Voter access follows Alabama law. Older Huntsville volumes, newspapers, and maps are held by HMCPL, the state archives, UAH, and Alabama A&M. We bring the verified portals, office contacts, coverage facts, fees, and access routes together so readers can start with the right custodian.
What This Reference Contains
- Pages by search angle: records by street, historical city directories, and a one-person resident lookup
- Named custodians: the assessor, Probate Judge, Circuit Clerk, elections office, vital-records offices, libraries, and archives
- Practical workflows: tracing a parcel, reading an old directory entry, and following a household through changing sources
- Access boundaries: what Alabama law makes available, which records stay restricted, and where a written request is required
Limits of Our Role
Madison County Residents Directory is a private reference site. It is not connected with Madison County, the State of Alabama, a court, a library, or any records custodian. Those boundaries mean:
- We cannot confirm whether a named person currently lives in Madison County
- We cannot pull, certify, or change any record on your behalf
- We cannot add anyone to, or remove anyone from, any roll or database
- We cannot give legal advice about a record or a dispute
- We cannot guarantee that each link, office detail, or coverage date remains current
A record can be verified, certified, or corrected only by its custodian. Information reached here is prohibited from credit, employment, tenant, or insurance decisions.
